The award was created in 1977 to honor an attorney whose perseverance, commitment, and unmatched dedication to the civil justice system is at the forefront of their lives. He served as President of the Palm Beach County Justice Association and the Florida Justice Association, and is a current Board Member for the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.

Greg Yaffa has held leadership positions in esteemed professional associations, such as Past President of the Palm Beach County Justice Association, President of the North County Section of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, and Chair of the Young Lawyers Section of the Florida Justice Association.
