Halley B. Lewis, IV, brings a wealth of experience as a seasoned litigator to our firm, boasting an impressive trial record that includes first-chairing over 20 jury trials and sitting as co-counsel on many more. Prior to joining us, Halley honed his skills at the State Attorney’s Office in Tallahassee, Florida, where he focused on the prosecution of violent crimes and notably became one of the shortest-tenured attorneys within the office to serve as lead trial counsel on a first-degree murder.

Halley's professional journey underscores his commitment to academic excellence and courtroom proficiency. A native of Tallahassee, he pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2016. He then pursued his legal education at Florida State University College of Law, graduating cum laude with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 2021. Halley's accomplishments earned him prestigious accolades, including the Garnet & Gold Law Scholarship, as well as Book Awards for achieving the highest grade in courses such as Scientific Evidence & Expert Testimony, Gambling and Pari-Mutuel Law, and Insurance Law and Regulation—a class taught by former Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Ricky Polston. He was also recognized for his academic prowess by being named to the Dean’s List in the fall of 2020.

Beyond academia, Halley excelled as a member of Florida State’s Trial Team, contributing to significant victories such as securing the title of National Champions at the Buffalo-Niagara Trial Competition in the fall of 2020 and leading his team to victory as Champions at the FSU College of Law Intramural Tournament in the fall of 2019. His adeptness in trial advocacy was further demonstrated by his team's achievement as Regional Semi-Finalists in the prestigious AAJ Trial Competition in the spring of 2021.

Transitioning seamlessly from law student to legal practitioner, Halley embarked on a fulfilling career at the State Attorney’s Office for the Second Judicial Circuit, located in Tallahassee, FL. Here, he upheld the principles of justice by prosecuting a diverse array of criminal cases, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to thoroughness. His responsibilities encompassed all aspects of the legal process—from initial case intake to final disposition—where he exhibited exceptional skill in compiling discovery, coordinating follow-up investigations, and engaging with victims and witnesses with empathy and professionalism.
