Cunningham will co-chair the program and present a session titled “Handling Claims Under HB 837: What We Know After 3 ½ Years.” His presentation will examine the practical effects of House Bill 837, Florida’s tort reform legislation that took effect in March 2023, with particular attention to how the law has influenced claims handling, litigation strategy and insurance disputes.

Drawing on his experience representing policyholders and injured Floridians in complex insurance and bad-faith matters, Cunningham will discuss lessons that have emerged from more than three years of practice under the current statutory framework. The program is intended to help attorneys understand how the legal landscape has developed since HB 837 took effect and what practitioners should consider when evaluating claims.
