PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (October 16, 2018) – Sean C. Domnick, a shareholder at Rafferty Domnick Cunningham & Yaffa, was honored with the Jon E. Krupnick at the Florida Justice Association (FJA) Masters of Justice Convention in Orlando, Florida on October 11, 2018. The Florida Justice Association is a statewide organization representing plaintiff attorneys whose mission is to strengthen and uphold the civil justice system and protect the rights of Florida’s citizens and consumers.
The Jon E. Krupnick Award is awarded for efforts on behalf of a particular client reflecting relentless commitment, perseverance and fortitude to seek justice and achieve success through all obstacles and legal roadblocks encountered. This award recognizes the tireless efforts by Mr. Domnick and his firm to bring justice for the family of John Potts who died in a tragic car crash in August 2006 leaving behind a wife and three children. Mr. Domnick along with his partners Fred Cunningham and Greg Yaffa, dedicated 12 years to resolving this case, including three different jury trials, an appeal to the Fourth District Court of Appeals and ultimately arguing in front of the Florida Supreme Court where they prevailed. The final ruling was issued on September 20, 2018.
Mr. Domnick currently serves as Parliamentarian of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and President of the Palm Beach County Justice Association. He has been a member of the FJA Board of Directors since 1996 and is Past President of the Miami-Dade Justice Association. He is also the 2015 recipient of the BJ Masterson Award, an award given to attorneys who display the highest degree of ethical professionalism, the 2018 W. McKinley Smiley, Jr. Award for mentorship and has received the AAJ Distinguished Service Award in 2012, 2014 and 2016 and the Above and Beyond Award in 2017.
Mr. Domnick is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer with a national practice devoted to representing victims of catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice and nursing home abuse. He has the distinct privilege of serving as a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Melvin M. Belli Society and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
