DCY Shareholders Re-elected to Florida Justice Association Board of Directors

(PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA.) Domnick Cunningham & Yaffa shareholders Jeanmarie Whalen and Gregory M. Yaffa were re-elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Florida Justice Association (FJA) during the organization’s Annual Convention in St. Petersburg, Florida last week. The Florida Justice Association is a statewide organization representing plaintiff attorneys whose mission is to strengthen and uphold Florida’s civil justice system and protect the rights of Florida’s citizens and consumers.

Ms. Whalen was re-elected to the Board of Directors for the Florida Justice Association, which she has served since 2011. In this position, she serves on the Board of Governors for American Association for Justice, the national association dedicated to promoting a fair and effective justice system. Additionally, Ms. Whalen is a past Chair and one of the founding members of the FJA Women’s Caucus. She is also a frequent lecturer at their educational seminars, covering complex topics such as litigation involving catastrophic injury and trucking accidents.

Mr. Yaffa first entered leadership ranks within the organization’s Young Lawyers Section in 2008 and has served on the governing Board since 2012. He has previously been honored with the Rising Star Award (2012) and the Bronze Eagle Award (2013), both presented in recognition of a commitment to protecting access to justice. He is a frequent lecturer on insurance company bad faith and is a regular columnist for the FJA Journal where he provides expert analysis and insurance related case law updates for the “Insurance Decisions from Around the State” column.
